Epitrochleoanconeus

This small accessory muscle sits near the ‘funny bone.’ It crosses over the ulnar nerve at the cubital tunnel, so in some people it protects the nerve, while in others it can contribute to cubital tunnel symptoms like tingling into the ring and little fingers. Also known as anconeus epitrochlearis / anconeus sextus.
Function
Forms part of the roof of the cubital tunnel when present. It may assist with elbow extension or medial elbow stability, but its biggest clinical relevance is its relationship to the ulnar nerve.
Origin
Medial epicondyle of the humerus.
Insertion
Olecranon of the ulna.
Innervation
Ulnar nerve.
