Hand
The only muscle that can flex the fingertip (DIP joint) — test it by holding someone's middle phalanx still and trying to bend the tip.
Function
Flexes DIP joints of digits 2-5, assists wrist flexion
Origin
Anterior and medial surfaces of proximal ulna and interosseous membrane
Insertion
Bases of distal phalanges of digits 2-5
Innervation
Medial: ulnar nerve (C8-T1); Lateral: anterior interosseous (C8-T1)
