Function
Draws lower lip medially; helps shape mouth closure
Origin
Alveolar process/incisive fossa of mandible near lateral incisor
Insertion
Orbicularis oris and skin of lower lip
Innervation
Marginal mandibular/buccal branches of facial nerve (CN VII)
