Adductor Minimus

Adductor minimus is like the ‘mini hidden cousin’ of adductor magnus. Some sources describe it as its own small muscle, while others treat it as the upper fibers of adductor magnus.
Function
Adducts the thigh at the hip. It may also assist with hip flexion, slight lateral rotation, and stabilization of the hip during standing, walking, and single-leg balance.
Origin
Inferior pubic ramus and ischial ramus, near the upper part of the adductor magnus origin.
Insertion
Proximal posterior femur, especially near the medial lip of the linea aspera and sometimes near the gluteal tuberosity region.
Innervation
Obturator nerve, anterior division, L2–L4; because it is closely related to adductor magnus, some descriptions mention overlap with adductor magnus innervation.
